C. David Entz

C. David Entz, 77, of Jersey Shore, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 6, 2014.

David was born July 9, 1936, in Felton, to the Rev. Herbert S. and Lillian J. (Wilson) Entz. He was the youngest of three boys, survived by the oldest, Ned, and predeceased by Robert, both of Washington.

David spent his entire professional career working for Acme Markets, Inc. He was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church and most recently attended Crossroads Community Church.

He will be remembered by many as a son, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.

David’s final years have been at ManorCare Health Services, where he enjoyed spending time befriending and loving on the residents there, as well as the staff, who took wonderful care of him. David considered each and every one of them his extended family and loved them deeply, which was reciprocated back. Most importantly to us, Dad will be remembered by us for his love for Christ. Dad looked forward to the “promise made through Christ,” to meet his Savior face to face. We are sure Dad has heard those words, “Well done ye good and faithful servant.”

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years on April 5, 2007, the former Donna L. Waltz, who were united in marriage on Oct. 29, 1955, at Quiggleville United Methodist Church; a daughter, LeaAnna J. (Entz) Waltz; and a granddaughter, Lindsay Michelle Entz.

Surviving are three children, Linda J. (Troy) Kanouff, of Linden, Eugene D. (Michelle) Entz, of Jersey Shore, and Ronald L. (Cora), of Salladasburg; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, with a third on the way.

Friends will be received during a time of remembrance for David on Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 1454 S. State Route 44 Highway, Jersey Shore. A Life Celebration service will follow at 5 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Community Church, with Pastor John Phillips officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to Crossroads Community Church.

Arrangements entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
