Fred W. Kinley

Fred W. Kinley, 82, of Linden and formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at ManorCare North in Williamsport.

He was born July 14, 1931, in Jersey Shore, a son of George H. and Nina (Wagaman) Kinley.

Fred was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a life member of both the Jersey Shore VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Jersey Shore B.P.O.E. Lodge and L.O.O.M. Lodges.

Fred was employed with Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven as a machinist and installation fitter. He enjoyed airplanes and aviation history.

He loved his grandchildren who affectionately called Fred their “Pancake Pappy.”

His survivors include two daughter, Holly Ann (Butch) Kinley-Erb, of Montoursville and Bonnie Fryer, of Jersey Shore and two grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Erb.

He was predeceased by three siblings, James W. Kinley, and twins George and Georgine.

Fred’s Life Celebration will begin with a visitation on Friday, April 11, 2014, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with services to be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
