The memorial service being held today for Joan L. Doebler at Community Baptist Church has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The memorial service will be rescheduled for a later date, and will be announced in the Sun-Gazette.

Joan L. Doebler, 79, of Jersey Shore, went home to be with the Lord on her birthday, Thursday, April 17, 2014. She is celebrating her birthday in Heaven.
Born April 17, 1935, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Ruby Fritz Merrill.
Joan was a member of Community Baptist Church where she was a past Deaconess, and served on the missions committee. She was involved in missionary work having gone on several mission trips. Joan had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking and taking care of visitors. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Doebler; three children, Debra Smith (Smitty), of Woolrich, Rick Doebler, of Jersey Shore, Michele Sanford (Gary), of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren, Brooks McKenzie (Carina), Ashley Johnson (Jeremy), Katie Doebler, Jolie Shepherd (Jon), Ricky Sanford (Kati), Andrea Sanford; and one great-grandson, Carter Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Joan’s name may be made to Community Baptist Church, or to New Tribes Mission, 1000 E. First St., Sanford, FL 32771.
