Lena ‘Peg’ Parker

Lena “Peg” Parker, 91, of Blossburg, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.

Born on July 5, 1922, in Corning, N.Y., she was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Lena Leona (Bailey) Young. Lena was predeceased by her husband, Philip W. Parker in 1988.

Lena is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Philip R. and Diane Parker, of Blossburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Kenny Nickerson, of Liberty; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a grandson, Roger Black Jr., in November 2012; two sisters; and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 28, 2014, from 11 a.m. to noon at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at noon at the funeral chapel with Rev. Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Liberty.
