Thelma “Marian” Bubb, 89, of South Williamsport, passed away peacefully at The Gatehouse Hospice Unit on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Marian was surrounded by her loving family at that time. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Andrea (Kevin) Weinhoffer, Jennifer (Scott) Manning, Aimee (Ted) Stopper-Born, Danene Stewart, Ryan Stewart, Stephanie Stewart and Brian Girio.

Thelma “Marian” Bubb, 89, of South Williamsport, passed away peacefully at The Gatehouse Hospice Unit on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Marian was surrounded by her loving family at that time.
Born June 10,1924, in Wyalusing, she was the daughter of the late Thelma (Condon) Pringle and Elijah Pringle. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Bubb; son, Timothy Bubb; an infant daughter; and brothers, Elijah “Mickey” and Timothy Pringle.
Marian attend school in South Williamsport and graduated from St. Joseph High School. Following high school, she began working at the former Hurr’s Dairy store. She continued working at Hurr’s until she became a wife and full time mother. When her children were grown, Marian worked at Winner Hardware. Her greatest and most fulfilling work was that of raising her children. As Marian always said, “These were the best years of her life.”
Marian spent many years volunteering in the community. She was an active member and officer of PTA. She worked diligently at Annunciation Church both in the Social Hall and on the Arts and Crafts committee. She volunteered with Divine Providence Auxiliary and St. Ann’s Church.
Marian is survived by her sister, Patricia Solley and her sister-in-law, Patricia Pringle Higgins. In addition, Marian is survived by three daughters, Patricia (George) Girio, of South Williamsport, Gretchen Goodman, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Susan Stewart of Stephens City, Va. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Andrea (Kevin) Weinhoffer, Jennifer (Scott) Manning, Aimee (Ted) Stopper-Born, Danene Stewart, Ryan Stewart, and Stephanie Stewart. Marian’s legacy of love continues with her six great-grandchildren.
Marian reminded everyone everyday about how her family was her best blessing.
Marian’s celebration of life will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at St Ann’s Roman Catholic Church. Internment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gatehouse Hospice Unit at Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
