Mildred E. Gearhart

Mildred E. Gearhart, 92, resident of Wellsboro, passed away on May 19, 2014, at the Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Silas G. Gearhart, who passed away Aug. 6, 2001.

Mildred, born on Nov. 1, 1921, in Clearfield, was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (McCracken) Wetzel. She later graduated from the Clearfield High School and continued her education at The Practical Bible Training School in Binghamton, N.Y. Mildred attended the Kennedyville Baptist Church, Dexter Baptist Church and Stony Fork Baptist Church, where her late husband, the Rev. Silas G. Gearhart, was the former pastor.

Mildred is survived by three sons, John (Pat) Gearhart, of Brooksville, Fla., Ronald (Beverly) Gearhart, of Cogan Station and E. Keith (Vickie) Gearhart, of Tualatin, Ore. She also has five grandchildren, Corey (Michael) Thorne, Robin (Scott) Metzger, Timothy (Kasey) Gearhart, Eric Gearhart, Jason (Lindsay) Gearhart and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Thorne, Austin Loe, Ashlynn Loe, and Josh Metzger.

Friends and family are invited to Mildred’s Life Celebration 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901. Funeral service to follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the West Branch Cemetery.
