Josephine Harriet Miller

Josephine Harriet (Wilson) Miller went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Blossburg on Sept. 5, 1921, to Gertrude and Adam Wilson, she was last living grandchild of William B. Wilson, congressman and first Secretary of Labor of the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Miller; their son, Albert Miller, of Blossburg; and her siblings, William (Edith) Wilson, Thomas (Eleanor) Wilson, Catherine (Winston) Golden, Angus Wilson, and Agnes (David) Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Crosbie, of Cogan Station; grandchildren, Emma (Kyle) Casciole, Matthew Crosbie, and Carolynn (Richard) Fox; and many loved nieces and nephews.

A lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Blossburg, she loved spending time in God’s word. Josephine also treasured picnics with her family and sitting on her porch swing.

Josephine was a Blossburg Elementary School cafeteria worker for many years.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Blossburg on Friday, June 27. Friends and family are invited to call at 10:30 to 11 a.m. Her pastor, Rev. Shypulefski, will officiate the service at 11 a.m.
