Donald W. Miller

Donald W. Miller, 77, Broad Street, Hughesville, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, surrounded by his family.

Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Muncy, he was the son of the late Marshall and Gertrude (Cox) Miller.

On Aug. 17, 1955, he married the former Helen M. Webb and they celebrated 58 years of marriage.

He was a 1955 graduate of Hughesville High School.

Don served with the U.S. Navy during Korean War as a Corpsman.

He was an electrician and welder by trade and a member of the IBEW Local No. 812, Williamsport.

A born-again Christian, he served as Pastor of the White Hall Baptist Church from 2001 until retiring in 2008.

He was a member of the Consolidated Sportsman’s Club, of Muncy Creek. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, having shot a deer for 26 straight years. Don loved spending time at the family cabin in Wyalusing.

Surviving, besides his wife, are three daughters and two son-in-laws, Robin M. Clayborne, of Colorado Springs, Colo, Tammy Lee and Kenneth Houp, of Reading; and Patti Jo and Bernard Lewandowski, of Muncy; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald J. (Janet Tilley) Miller, of Hughesville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Max J. Miller, of Hughesville; and his canine buddy, Maggie.

Friends are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, at White Hall Baptist Church, 945 White Hall Road, Danville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert L. Ayars officiating. A private burial will be held at the family’s convenience in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in Don’s memory be made to a charity of one’s choice.
