Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Carey Jaecques
Veronica “Ronnie” Carey Jaecques died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at the Legacy House Hospice in Ocala, Fla. She was born Feb. 4, 1936, in Stamford, Conn. She was raised in Williamsport, where she met and married Raymond Jaecques (Capt. USN Ret.), her loving husband of 56 years.
Ronnie was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and a valuable asset to her profession, having worked in various areas of healthcare including hospitals, nursing homes and private practice. Ronnie enjoyed shopping, especially for fabric with her friend, Lu Jolley, making handbags and taking pictures, especially for the Grand Group at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake, Va., where she was a member for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Terry (Steve Merriman), Sharon (David Souza), Michelle (Kevin Chang); son, Robert Jaecques (Serena); grandchildren, Katie, Erica, Kerri, Jonathan, Robert, Jacqueline, Jessica, Tori and Madeline; her mother, Veronica Carey; brothers, Richard, Robert, Mike; and sisters, Donna and Kathleen.
The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Dominion Village, Chesapeake, Va.; the staff of Emeritus West; and the Legacy House Hospice of Ocala. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in honor of Ronnie to Alzheimer Association.
