Mary Lou Jenks

Mary Lou Jenks, 82, of Williamsport, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at her home.

Born Jan. 23, 1934 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Houser) Bailey. She married Charles S. Jenks on March 15, 1958, and together they shared 45 years of marriage before his passing on March 8, 2004.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Williamsport High School and a member of Oak Grove Alliance Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, playing cards and yard sales. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family.

Surviving are two children, Jane Miller (Louis) and Charles Jenks (Lisa), both of Williamsport; a granddaughter, Lindsey Miller (Damian Colegrove); a great-granddaughter, Leah Miller; and a brother, James Bailey (Loretta).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Fike and Emma Caputo.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mary Lou will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Edgar Manns officiating. Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Sanders Mortuary.
