Winifred I. ‘Winnie’ Bidlespacher
Winifred I. “Winnie” Bidlespacher, 99, of Williamsport, passed away, Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean F. Bidlespacher, May 18, 1990.
Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Martha (Kleese) Aderhold.
Winnie was a 1934 graduate of Hepburnville High School. She retired in 1981 from Sylvania Electric after 33 years as an inspector.
She was the longest member of Heshbon United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Newberry and Heshbon Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 321. Winnie enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and entertaining. Her family will miss her baking apple pies, apple dumplings and chocolate chip cookies; they will especially miss her delicious coconut cake.
Surviving are a son, Gary L. Bidlespacher and wife Loretta, of King Ferry, N.Y.; a very special brother-in-law, Max Dangle and wife Dorothy; a dear cousin, Frank Stiger and wife Helen; three grandchildren, Ronna Woodhams, Scott Bidlespacher (Kerry) and Todd Bidlespacher (Kelly); six great-grandchildren, Nick Woodhams (Anna), Kateland Woodham, Zachary, Sarah, Julia, and Alea Bidlespacher; a great-granddaughter, Lyra; three nieces, Lisa Guise (Greg), Ruth Pile, and Edie Gross; 15 great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews, numerous great-great-great-nieces and nephews; and a former daughter-in-law, Doris McHenry.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Bidlespacher, surviving is his wife, Nancy Bidlespacher, of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; two brothers and three sisters; and a special friend, Charles Reaser.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. A memorial service to honor the life of Winifred will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31 at Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Road, Williamsport, with the Rev. Robert Wallace officiating.
Burial will be held private at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Winifred’s name to Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
