Beatrice L. Cohick

Beatrice L. Cohick, 91, of Williamsport, left this world loving you, on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at her home surrounded by family. Surviving is her husband of 73 years, Carl L. Cohick Sr., whom she wed on May 18, 1943.

Born Jan. 31, 1925, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Mary E. (Garman) Mulberger.

Beatrice was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School. She worked at Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co. and later retired from Van Campen Motors after 26 years as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church and was very active throughout the years. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

Beatrice had a talent for playing the piano; she never took lessons and played by ear. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, afghans and recently making owl hats for all her family members. Her family will miss her great cooking and baking, especially her famous chocolate cake which no one can repeat. Most of all, Beatrice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Mary E. Szuhaj, of Williamsport, Carol L. (James) Steele, of Towanda, Carl L. (Jeannine) Cohick Jr., of Muncy, S. Jean Cohick, of South Williamsport; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Elizabeth Thomas, Dorothy Wheeland, John, Joseph and Richard Mulberger, Mary Livermore, Helen Kleese and Emily Shireman.

A funeral service to honor the life of Beatrice will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, with Rev. Jennett Wertz, officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.

Memorial contributions may be made in Beatrice’s name to St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
