Bobby Cochran, 87, of Liberty, passed away at his residence, Nov. 9, 2016.
Born in Liberty on Sept. 16, 1929, he was the son of Fred and Elmina Brion Cochran. He married Barbara Jean Fritz, who preceded him in death.
During his service with the U.S. Air Force, he flew the Berlin Air Lift and severed during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by Ward Foundry for 40 years as a machine operator.
Bobby was a wonderful athlete. In 1947, his senior year at Liberty High School, he was captain of his baseball, basketball and soccer teams. During his service with the Air Force he was the star pitcher of the baseball team, the Kitty Hawks. He enjoyed deer hunting for more than 30 years; his best trophy was a 16 pt. buck.
Bobby was a man of few words and loved by all.
Surviving are children, Rod (Cindy) Cochran, of Westfield and Tanya (Michael) Ernest, of Mentone, Ala.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Cochran and a special friend, Jean Cooper.
