James A. ‘Jim’ Keener
James A. “Jim” Keener, 54, of Keener Drive, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016.
Born August 15, 1962, in Freemont, Calif., he was the son of Donald H. Keener, of Watsontown, and the late Shirley A. (Brown) Keener, who died June 5, 2013. On Oct. 16, 1981, he married the former Anna M. Poltack, and they have celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Jim graduated from Mountain View Christian Academy, Newark, Calif., and was employed at Apple Hill Auto and Collision, of Muncy.
In his younger years, Jim enjoyed surfing, boating and riding dirt bikes with his wife and sons. In his recent years, he enjoyed the outdoors and four-wheeling in his Jeep, but nothing compared to spending time with his family. He was very proud of his sons for growing into the men they have become and for all of their accomplishments. His granddaughter was his pride and joy, and he loved her beyond words.
Jim will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
Surviving besides his wife and his father are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kraig A. and Kari Keener, of Burgettstown and Kent D. and Kyla Keener, of McDonald; a granddaughter, Lydia Keener; and two brothers, Gregory (Julie) Keener, of Fresno, Calif. and Douglas H. (Kim) Keener, of Unityville.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville. Burial will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
