John F. Biblehimer

John F. Biblehimer, 75, of Montoursville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Margaret A. (Cook) Biblehimer. He was born March 13, 1941, in Shenandoah, the son of Alvin John and Anna Litwhitler Biblehimer.

John graduated from Ringtown High School and served from 1962 – 1966 in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from United Parcel Service after more than 30 years of service. He loved to hunt and raise his own animals. You could always find him on his John Deere tractor in his garden, or giving rides to his grandchildren. He enjoyed having family and friends come for visits. He was a member of Newberry Church of Christ and loved reading the Bible.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Eric Biblehimer, of Lock Haven, Holly (David) McCracken, of Vestal, N.Y., April Biblehimer, of Williamsport; six grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Kintzer, of Reading, Clarann (Curt) Brobst, of New Ringgold and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Fay Louise Waehner Biblehimer; an infant son and brother, Edward Biblehimer.

The funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville, with Pastor John E. Shirey III officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming Co. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
