John V. Delker

John V. Delker, 91, formerly of Cogan Station, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Rose View Court. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine D. (Paulhamus) Delker on Sept. 25, 2013.

Born April 21, 1925, in Cogan Station, he was a son of the late George E. and Goldie E. (Farnsworth) Delker.

John was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from Textron as a machinist in 1983 after 33 years of service.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are his three sons, Ronald R. (Bonnie) Delker, of Florida, Wayne E. Delker, of Cogan Station, and Darwin J.  (Joan) Delker,  of Muncy; a daughter, Christine C. (Fred) Young , of Jersey Shore; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Kleland, Paul, Larue, Elmer, Harry, Clyde, and Clair Delker, and three sisters, Irene Mitchley, Martha and Louise Horn.

A funeral service to honor the life of John will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with Pastor Donald Wakefield officiating. Burial will follow in State Road Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held 2 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
