Lt. Col. Edgar “Bud” Walker Nichols
Lt. Col. Edgar “Bud” Walker Nichols, formerly of Williamsport, died on Sept. 22, 2016, a resident of Golden, Colo. Bud was born in Williamsport in 1923 and was predeceased by his wife, Katherine, and his parents, Edgar Sr. and Beulah Nichols. Bud is survived by his son, Ed, of Golden, and brother, William E. Nichols, of Williamsport.
Having graduated Williamsport Area High School, he then graduated West Point where he obtained his Commission of Lieutenant and served as a pilot in the Air Force.
He flew in the Berlin Airlift after World War II and later on served with the Strategic Air Command at various Titan Missile Bases in the United States.
After retirement he worked for over twenty years with the Writer Construction Company in Denver. Bud’s work with Writer included construction activity, establishing specifications for pools and irrigation systems and performing many liaisons between the Company and Government entities.
Funeral services were held with full Military Honors on Oct. 4, 2016, at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
