Mary E. Sortman

Mary E. Sortman, 85, of DuBoistown, died Monday, October, 31, 2016, at Rose View Center.

Born April 4, 1931, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Charles N. and Phyllis R. (Atkinson) Reamer.

Mary was a 1949 graduate of South Williamsport High School, and she worked many years as a bank teller at Jersey Shore State Bank in DuBoistown. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and enjoyed reading, tatting and taking walks.

Surviving are three sons, Daniel L. Hall (Patrice) of Hickory, N.C.  , Charles W. Hall (Heather) of Heggins and Jonathan D. Hall (Robin) of Mosquito Valley; 10 grandchildren, one great grandson, step-children, Christy Saling (Ed), Donald Sortman (Janice), Jenny Hyde (Paul), and James Sortman (Donna); many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and her former spouse, Russell Hall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hall E. Sortman, a granddaughter MariJo Hall, and two siblings Charles N. Reamer and Jane Laughton.

A funeral service to honor Mary’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 4 at Trinity Episcopal Church 844 West Fourth St. Williamsport, with the Rev. Canon Ken Wagner-Pizza officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
