Michael D. Lord

Michael D. Lord, 51, of Montoursville, went home to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday Nov. 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 10, 1965, in Williamsport, he was a son of Paul David Lord, of Portage, Ind., and Mary Ruth Mull, of Williamsport. He married the former Deborah Hornberger on June 19, 1992, and together, they shared 24 years of marriage.

Michael was a graduate of South Williamsport High School class of 1984. He worked for Hurwitz Batteries doing outside sales for 30 years. He loved his job and was always made to feel he was part of the McWilliams family and not just an employee. Michael was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating on the river, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and taking fishing trips to Canada.

Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are a brother, Daniel (Tina) Lord, of Montoursville; a sister, Lisa (Carl) Potts, of Williamsport; maternal grandmother, Ann Stroup, of Montoursville; brothers in law, David (Nancy) Hornberger, of Duboistown, Charles (Lisa) Hornberger, of Fairmont, W. Va.; several nieces and nephews, Sheila, Stacie, Ciara, Anastacia, Colton and Bobby and his beloved dogs, Amber, Macie and Nugget, who was his fishing buddy.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jack Stroup; paternal grandparents, Paul Lord and John and Leila Deutschle; his father and mother in law, John and Claire Hornberger and his step mother, Toni Lord.

A funeral service to honor the life of Michael will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, with Rev. Jacob Waybright and Pastor Rusty Wolfinger, officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.

Interment will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
