Virginia L. (Bryan) Kauffman, 83, of South Williamsport, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at her residence.

She was married on Jan. 12, 1952, to Melvin W. Kauffman Jr., who survives, and they have celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Virginia was born in Williamsport on Jan. 19, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Laverne W. and Wilma E. (Cline) Bryan. She was a graduate of South Williamsport Area High School, 1950. Virginia was a dedicated homemaker who was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, South Williamsport and Ladies Auxiliary Post 617. She enjoyed plays at the Community Theater League, bus trips, watching old movies and spending time with her very special friends in her water aerobics class at the YMCA, but family was the most important.

In addition to her husband Melvin, she is survived by two sons, William L. Kauffman (Donna), of Huntersville, N.C. and Mark L. Kauffman (Sharon), of Milton; two daughters, Sharon L. Brown (Richard), of Williamsport and Kay L. Stroble (Dave), of South Williamsport; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Verna L. Beck, of Corning, N.Y. and Joyce R. Miles, of Williamsport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Coralee A. Bingaman; one grandson; William L. Kauffman Jr.; and one great-grandson, Case William Budman.

There will be a public viewing 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, where the funeral will be at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Brumbaugh will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
