Allan K. Stryker Sept. 15, 1946 — Feb. 18, 2017

Allan was born in Paterson, N.J. and raised in Louisville, Ky. He attended the University of Louisville for his bachelor’s degree, medical degree, surgical internship, general surgery residency and plastic surgery residency.

He practiced plastic and reconstructive surgery at Trover Clinic, Madisonville, Ky., 1978 to 1986; in Williamsport, 1986 to 2002; active duty at Darnell Army Hospital, Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas, 2002 to 2005. He returned to Williamsport, working for the Susquehanna Health System from 2005 to 2012.

Allan was humble despite the high regard bestowed on him by friends, patients and colleagues as well as the many awards and accolades he received over his years of surgical practice.

Allan returned to Texas in 2013. All who knew him knew how much he enjoyed the warm weather.

He is survived by his daughters, Danielle and Michelle Stryker; grandsons, Cole Stryker-Mahonski and Kai Ducot; and former wife, Victoria Stryker.

Allan had friends all over the country. He is remembered for his surgical talent and artistic talent including photography and drawing. His joy, besides his family, was listening to the music of Bob Dylan and his love of all things trains.

Contributions in his name may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA at 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport.

A memorial of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pullman Car at the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, 810 Nichols Place, Williamsport.
