Candice Joy Stopper
Candice Joy Stopper, 71, longtime resident of South Williamsport, passed away on February 20, 2017, at the UPMC Susquehanna Medical Center.
She was born on November 6, 1945 to Lawrence and Phyllis (Rowles) Confer at Williamsport, PA.
She attended South Williamsport High School. Candice worked for 39 years as a Receptionist and Switchboard Operator for Little League International.
On April 20, 1978 she married Thomas Stopper at the Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, PA. Together they have shared 39 years of marriage.
Candice was a volunteer for Susquehanna Health Physical Therapy for six years. Candy’s biggest joy was her family, working in her flower beds around the house and just being with her friends on their monthly outings together. Candy never had a bad word to say about anyone and greeted everyone with sincere kindness. Her love of the ocean whether it be vacationing along the shore or taking her summer cruise trips with her husband Tom was something she would always look forward to. She will surely be missed by all of the lives she touched.
Candice is survived by her loving spouse Thomas Stopper, of Williamsport, her son, Scott McCarty of Mill Hall, granddaughter, Megan McCarty of Mill Hall, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, 2:00 pm at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Williamsport, PA, with Rev. Joshua L. Reinsburrow, officiating.
