Hubert C. ‘Pete’ Bubb

VETERAN

Hubert C. “Pete” Bubb, 94, a longtime Williamsport resident, now residing at the Meadows, passed away peacefully at the Gatehouse on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017.

Pete was born in Bastress Township on June 4, 1922, a son of Ralph and Rose Baier Bubb.

He had been employed at the former Shea Cadillac and retired after 16 years as an insurance adjuster for Aetna Insurance Co.

A World War II Army veteran he served in the European Theater with the 4th Armored Division.133 E. Third St.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish; a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 366; and a 4th degree member of the Father Reichsteiner Assembly.

Pete was an avid hunter and a member of Schwartzwald Hunting Club.

He and his wife, the former Margaret M. “Peg” Eck, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 29, 2016.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons, David C., Gregory M., Timothy A., Jeffrey L. and John F. Bubb, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

His son Daniel F. Bubb and eight siblings all preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening with the rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. and also in the church portico on Thursday from 8:45-9:45 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish 702 W. Fourth St., with his pastor, the Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating followed by burial at St. Boniface Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Korea War Veterans of Lycoming County.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Pete’s name may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 711 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA or Susquehanna Foundation for the benefit of The Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
