Carmen Eder Sheets
Carmen Eder Sheets, 82, of Montoursville, died Friday, March 17, 2017.
Carmen was the second generation to own and operate Eder’s Ice Cream. She ran the store for over 30 years and also retired from Phillips ECG. She was a graduate of Penn State University, a member of the Farragut United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, and enjoyed bowling, spending time with her grandchildren and going to the beach.
Born, May 23, 1934, in Montoursville, she was the daughter of Bruce and Mae Koch Eder.
Surviving are a daughter, Melissa M. (Rob) Labatch and a son, Thomas M. Sheets, both of Montoursville; sister, Vada Mae (Verne) Peterson, of Largo, Fla.; grandchildren, Kathina (Stephanie) Tayag, Tara (Cameron) Ball, Tye Sheets and Ian and Madison Labatch; and great-grandchildren, Eliana and Cameron Ball and Ryan and Greyson Tayag.
Carmen was predeceased by a sister, Janet A. Knull.
Memorial services in Carmen’s honor will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. David W. Trostle officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
