Charles L. Poust
Charles L. “Jack” Poust, 84, of Moreland Twp., died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at home. Jack was the husband of Sarah N. (Rishel) Poust and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 28, 2017.
Born April 22, 1932, in Franklin Twp., he is the son of the late Jesse J. and Pearl L. (Glidewell) Poust.
Prior to his retirement, Jack was a logger, working for several area logging companies. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, picnicking, John Deere and Farmall tractors. Jack enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family. He also competed in Lumberjack events throughout the state.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sarah are three daughters, Lucinda G. “Cindy” Houseknecht of Hughesville, Lisa M. Hall of Orangeville, Kristina J. (Chris) Hartman of Unityville; a son, Charles L. (Kathy) Poust Jr. of Muncy; a daughter-in-law, Shelly (Dietterick) Poust-Kiess of Unityville; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dane N. Poust; a grandson, Jesse C. Richart; and brothers, James B. and Oliver S. Poust.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. David K. Fishel officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Unityville. Visitation will be on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral.
