Marian B. Shepard

Marian B. Shepard, 84, of Port Matilda, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

She was eagerly looking forward to going home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born August 3, 1932, in Hepburnville, she was the daughter of the late Fred Santschi and Katherine Blemly Santschi. On Jan. 18, 1951, in Elmira, NY, she married William J. Shepard.

Marian is survived by her husband, William; three children, Linda Jolley and her husband, Steve, of Warriors Mark, Brenda Thomas and husband, Phil, of Duncansville, and John Shepard and his wife, Gina, of Port Matilda; 12 grandchildren, Michelle, Shannon, Krista, Jason, Benjamin, Joshua, Rashelle, Daniel, Angel, Malaya, Aleesia, and Alaina; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Doris Calvert of Montoursville.

Marian graduated from Williamsport Area High School. In 1980, Marian and her husband, William, opened their own business, Shepard’s Machine Shop Inc. She enjoyed working alongside William, both in their business and serving their family. Marian liked to garden and work outdoors. She was very talented at sewing. She sewed and donated over 500 stuffed bears for the hospital over the years. Marian also enjoyed cooking and baking. She also faithfully taught Sunday School for many years.

Marian was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

A visitation will be 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Park Forest Baptist Church, 3030 Carnegie Dr., State College. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church, with Pastor Drew Fenstermacher officiating.

Burial will be in Grays Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823, in memory of Marian B. Shepard.
