Kenneth R. Maciejewski
Kenneth R. Maciejewski, 89, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Arista Care Loyalsock. Kenneth and his wife Mary E. (Barbour) Maciejewski would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this May 24, 2017.
Born March 30, 1928, in Hughesville, he is the son of the late Thaddeus J. and Lillian (Artley) Maciejewski.
Kenny was a 1945 graduate of Hughesville High School. He served in the U.S. Army in 1950 during the Korean Conflict with the 45th Infantry Division (Signal Company) and was Past Commander and Past Adjutant at the Glenn Sharrow Post No. 35 American Legion, Hughesville. He was employed for 52 years as an auto mechanic with the Ford dealerships of Hughesville, from John Turner on Railroad Street to Bob McCormick on Main Street, retiring in March of 1993. He is a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hughesville, and a former member of the PA Ridge Runner Travel Club. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family and had a passion for reading.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary is one daughter, Susan E. Lyons, of Hughesville; a son, David L. (Kathleen) Maciejewski, of Muncy; two grandsons, Michael Lyons, of Mifflinburg, Devin Q. Maciejewski, of Muncy; three great grandchildren; a niece, Corinne (Steve) Donvan, of Duxbury, Mass.; and a nephew, Christian (Barbara) Maciejewski, of Meredith, N.H.; and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Maciejewski, of Norwood, Mass.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Maciejewski.
Graveside memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville, with Pastor Cinda Brucker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth’s name to Hughesville Public Library, 146 S. 5th St., Hughesville, PA 17737.
