Betty A. Anderson
Betty A. Anderson, 94, of Williamsport, Pa., died peacefully at the Williamsport Home on Monday June 26, 2017.
She was born in Williamsport on August 30, 1922, the daughter of G. Merrill and Ann C. Kiessling Anderson.
Betty was a longtime parishioner at St Boniface Catholic Church in Williamsport serving for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. She was employed by Sears Roebuck Co., as an Auditing Supervisor retiring in 1988 after 48 years of service. Betty graduated from the former St. Mary’s High School and the Williamsport Business School. Betty was an active volunteer for many years with the Divine Providence Hospital Auxillary often working in the hospital gift shop. She was also a volunteer for the First United Council of Church’s here in Williamsport.
She is survived by a sister, Phyliss J. Maietta, of Greencastle; and nieces, Karen A. (John) Wincey, of New Port Richey, Fla. and Peggy Jo (Bernard) Lewis, of Spencerport, N.Y.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Carl F. Anderson in 1996. Betty is also survived by her longtime friend, Pat Lyons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., on Friday June 30, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. with her pastor Msgr. Stephen McGough officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Church Cemetery on Penn and Wyoming Streets in Williamsport.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St Boniface Catholic Church or to the Divine Providence Hospital in C/O Susquehanna Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
