Donald E. Robb
Donald E. Robb, 90, of Robb Lane, Turbotville, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his home.
Born August 17, 1926, in “Rabbittown Hollow”, Lycoming County, he was the son of the late Willard T. and Hazel I. (McCarty) Robb. On February 24, 1951, he married the former D. Elaine Persun and they celebrated 60 years of marriage until her death December 22, 2011.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Cabinet Industries, Danville.
Earlier in life he owned and operated the “Exchange Machine Shop” during the late 1950’s through the 1960’s and then owned and operated “Robb’s Meat Market” until the mid 1970’s. He had also worked at the former Stamm’s Supply, Turbotville.
Donald was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, McEwensville.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruth Ann Appleman and her husband James E., of Turbotville, Sharon A. Strimboulis and her husband Robert, of Williamsport, Helen L. Stamm and her husband Earl N., of Watsontown, and Donna L. Mordan and her husband Gary A., of Turbotville; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Laverne Apple, Sunbury.
Preceding him in death besides his wife was a daughter, Anna J. Apple who died in January 2011.
Friends and family are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc. PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason King of Friendship Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in St John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church Cemetery, Montgomery.
