Geneva Josephine Lindauer

Geneva Josephine “Jo” Lindauer, 94, of Allentown, formerly a resident of Watsontown, Northumberland County, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Lawrence R. “Lucky” Lindauer, for over forty-eight years, before his passing on Thanksgiving night, November 1995. They were married on June 29, 1947. She and her husband cleared their land and built their own home together. Geneva enjoyed their fruit trees, huge garden and canning healthy food.

Geneva was born, June 4, 1922, in Moreland Township, Lycoming County, a daughter of the late Lester D. and Esther (Smith) Hill.

Geneva was a member of Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery, where she was a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She graduated, with honors, in 1941, from Montgomery-Clinton High School.

Previous employment included the Montgomery Mills, Lewisburg JPM; M.E.N. Shoppe, Allenwood and enjoyed working with friends at the Blessing Farm, Muncy, during strawberry season.

Survivors: Daughter, JoAnn Lindauer Schneider and son-in-law, David P. Schneider, of Allentown, (with whom she resided); grandson, Michael D. Schneider; granddaughter, Loren J. Schneider; great-granddaughter, Aryana Schneider; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law’s. She was predeceased by her three brothers and three sisters.

Services: A visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in the Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, with a visitation from 9:30-10 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery 62 State Route 54, Montgomery.
