John E. Gromley Jr.  VETERAN

John E. Gromley Jr., 71, of Rauchtown, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home.

Born Nov. 20, 1945, in Jersey Shore, he was the son to the late John E. Gromley Sr. and the former Rebecca E. Rainey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca R. Gromley, and his son, Andrew J. Gromley.

John was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was an avid model train collector. After many years of service he retired from Textron in Williamsport.

Surviving are his sister, Regina R. (Harry) Gallagher, of Yardley, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service honoring the life of John will be held noon Friday, June 30, 2017, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Donald Harbaugh officiating. A time of visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. The Rev. Donald Harbaugh will officiate.
