Loretta Lucille Johns Daggett
Loretta Lucille Johns Daggett, 86, of Bloomsburg, passed away on June 20, 2017, at Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Berwick Feb. 12, 1931, the daughter of Clarence Albert and Lorena May (Girton) Johns.
Loretta was a devoted wife and mother. Her house was always clean, and she was a wonderful cook. Her family will miss her fudge and chicken pot pie. She worked cleaning houses and babysitting. She took great pride in her family, and was their most devoted fan and cheerleader. Loretta attended every event involving her family, and delighted in their accomplishments big and small. She will be remembered for her love of soap operas, game shows, animals, and country western music. She loved the Bloomsburg Fair, and went every year as long as her health permitted. She was a long time resident of the Bloomsburg Towers, and enjoyed attending holiday meals and socials there.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Daggett, of Muncy; son, Marvin L. Jr. (Kathy) Daggett, of North Wales; four brothers, Roland (Barbara) Johns, of Bloomsburg, Larry (Renna) Dietterick, Gary (Debbie) Dietterick, and Barry Dietterick, all of Berwick; two sisters, Shirley Kishbaugh, of Nescopek, and Betty Johns, of Danville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 44 years, Marvin L. Daggett Sr.; and a son, Donald S. Daggett.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 26, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends and family will be received from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
