Charles M. Davis, 84, of Pennsdale, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at The Gatehouse.

Born April 28, 1933, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Ellis E. and the Edith V. (Miller) Davis.

Charles served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid bow hunter who also enjoyed fishing, model trains and listening to folk and country music.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Janet I. (Bartlow) Davis; three daughters, Belinda (Dave) Eddins, of Va., Janene (James) Rae, of Tenn. and Karen Balderson, of N.C.; two sons, Charles (Kim) Davis Jr., of Va. and Brian (Virginia) Davis, of Hughesville; two sisters, Nina Houseknecht, of Muncy and Debbie (David) Hensler, of Cogan Station; a brother, Howard (Janet) Davis, of Muncy; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step-sons, Keith (Sue) Stolz, of Washingtonville, Kevin (Shonda) Stolz, of Bloomsburg and Brian (Fioni) Stolz, of Berwick; a step-daughter, Karen Yaw, of Hughesville; a cousin, Betty Evelhair, of Pennsdale; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Marie Williams and a brother, Tom Davis.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Robert Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, with graveside military honors accorded by combined veterans organizations. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcome, however memorial contributions may also be made in memory of Charles to a charity of choice.
