James M. Clayton

James M. Clayton, of Williamsport, died on Friday, August 4, 2017, attended by his family.

Born Oct. 21, 1929, in Renovo, Pa., he was the son of Harry W. Clayton and Adele Hyman.

Jim served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and the U.S. Army Reserves for 5 years. He retired from Rayovac Industries.

Jim was a member of the Pine Street Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and golf and spending time with his family. He was a member of both the Young Men’s Republican and Gesang Verin Harmonia social clubs

Jim was married to the love of his life, Eleanor Clayton for 69 years.

Together they have two sons, Jim, of Williamsport, and Gary, of Mississippi; two daughters-in-law; 2 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Sinsabaugh, of Hughesville.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1, at the Pine Street United Methodist Church, Williamsport. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m.
