Walter E. Rounsville Jr.

Walter E. Rounsville Jr., 84, of Enola, formerly of Antes Fort, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born Sept. 30, 1932, in Corning, N.Y., he was son of Walter E. and Verna (Belnap) Rounsville.

Walter was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. He worked in wire assembly at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven for 28 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Williamsport area.

Walter was a life member of the Antes Fort Volunteer Fire Company and also served as Constable and Tax Collector for Nippenose Township. He was an active long-time member of Antes Fort United Methodist Church and most recently attended Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church where he liked helping with their Easter egg fundraiser. Walter enjoyed hunting for many years, gardening, golfing, playing cards, watching Penn State football games, spending time with family, and talking about politics and the weather.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Joan (Dorwart) Rounsville; sons, Jeff Rounsville, of Mechanicsburg and Chris (Lori) Rounsville, of Harrisburg; daughter, Becky (Mike) Bubb, of Enola; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Petrovich, Matthew Bubb, Shay Rounsville, Eston Heller; and 6 great-grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by his grandson, Daygen Rounsville.

A Memorial Service for Walter will be held Saturday, September 30, 11:30 a.m., at Antes Fort United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
