Thomas E. Fox

Thomas E. Fox, 66, of Montgomery, a resident at UPMC Susquehanna Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, passed away peacefully holding his mother’s hand into his Savior’s arms on Sept. 2, 2017.

Thomas was born Sept. 21, 1950, was a 1968 graduate of Montgomery High School where he played basketball, track and football. Tom was a Specialty Kicker, who held the record for a 60 yard field goal to win against South Williamsport. After graduation he attended Williamsport Technical Institute and received his degree in business management.

Tom started his career as an assistant manager at Howard Johnson’s in Williamsport, relocated to Gettysburg to become the manager, then Shoney’s in Chambersburg and then relocating to Waldorf, Md., to work for Old Country Buffet. He had dreams of opening his own restaurant until he became ill.

Surviving are his two daughters, Dawn (Allen) Bird, of Blue Ridge Summit and Nicole Tacelosky, of Chambersburg; his mother, Beverly Fox, of Montgomery; siblings, Donald (Debra), of South Williamsport and sister, Bonnie (Frank) Ross, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Allan (Jennifer) Bird, of Waynesboro, Daniel (Donna) Bird, of West Virginia, Codee (Lindsay) Cook, of Waynesboro and Jessica Bird, of Blue Ridge Summit; and great-grandchildren, Cooper Cook, Allen, Anthony, Daniel Jr., Mikey, Austin, Chelsea, Alanna and Athena Bird.

A private memorial service to celebrate Tom’s life was held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Grace Baptist Church in Muncy by Dr. Charles Teffeteller.
