Byron E. Lehman
Byron Earl Lehman, 91, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Susque View Home, Lock Haven. He was born August 14, 1926, in Limestone Township, the son of Milfred and Bessie (Woomler) Lehman.
Byron was preceded in death by his wife, the former Madaline M. (Nabal) on July 25, 2005. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Alcan Cable. He was the oldest member of the Independent Hose Company in Jersey Shore. Byron enjoyed his garden and working on his Ford tractor.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Bruce) Sechrist, of Jersey Shore; a son, Scott Lehman, of Beech Creek; two grandchildren, Chad (Kiley) Sechrist, of Federalsburg, Md., Marc (Terra) Sechrist, of Montgomery; and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Grayson, Kolson and Branson. He is also survived by his friend, Gladys Overdorf, of Avis.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at the Jersey Shore Cemetery with Pastor Gary Shumway officiating. Independent Hose Company of Jersey Shore will conduct services and military honors will be accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Independent Hose Company of Jersey Shore, 130 Pennsylvania Ave., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
