Cora J. VanDyke

Cora J. VanDyke, 98, of Sebring, passed away Oct. 20, 2017. She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Liberty, the daughter of Ulysses E. Miller and Katherine (Alexander).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack VanDyke, in 1979; a son, James VanDyke in 2004; sisters, Bina Zeafla, Florance Austin, Sadie Clark, Mildred Jarrett, Ida Barner; and brother, Burt Miller.

She is survived by son, Larry Van Dyke; daughter, Sylvia Watkins; daughter-in-law Fran Smith; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

She worked for over 40 years at the former W and K (now Ward Manufacturing) in Blossburg. After retiring she traveled extensively with her sister-in-law, Mary Miller and niece, Violet Kimble.

She was always available to help friends and family whenever they needed her.

Family and friends will be received 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 24 at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michele Somerville officiating. Interment will be at Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg. Online condolences at freebergfh.com.
