Donovan K. Shultz

Donovan K. Shultz, 76, a resident of Valley View Nursing Home since November of 2015, died Oct. 9, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born Jan. 4, 1941, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Vernon and Evea (Sult) Shultz.

Donnie grew up in the Benton, Bloomsburg area moving to Clarkstown in 1950. After graduating from Muncy High School in 1960, he hauled milk for Earl Houseknecht in Clarkstown. Donnie worked 20 years hauling fuel oil for Vince Stein. He also worked at Clemens’s Machine and White Deer Run. Donnie then retired in 2000.

He was a member of Moreland Baptist Church, Muncy.

Donnie enjoyed traveling out west with his brother to hunt Elk, Mule Deer and Antelope. In his early years, he was a Mopar fan, having several fast cars and was also fond of horses and showed them at the fair.

When he was still able, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends at McDonald’s in Hughesville. Donnie felt he was too young to be in the nursing home, but his health problems took him from a strapping man to a body that he couldn’t take care of. This was his deepest regret and disappointment.

Surviving are a son, David L. Shultz, of Muncy; a grandson, Wesley Shultz, of Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Emily Shultz, of Muncy.

In addition to his parents, Donnie is predeceased by a son at birth, Donovan Jr.; and a brother, Duane Shultz.

There will be no services and interment will held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
