Michael L. Buckingham
Michael L. Buckingham, 64, of Linden, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Geisinger in Danville, surrounded by his family. Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Kwi (Kim) Buckingham.
Born April 16, 1953, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late L. Jay Buckingham and Phyllis (Egleston) Buckingham-Shaffer.
Michael graduated from Williamsport High School and served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Army. He was a family man who loved to tinker around the house that he built for his wife. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, reading Western novels, and could fix just about anything with his handyman skills.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Lena G. (Justin) Hall, of Montgomery and Kevin R. Buckingham, of Midland, Michigan; one grandson; a brother, L. Jay (Bea) Buckingham III, of Hanover; two sisters, Ruth L. (Bruce) Bennett, of East Haddam, Conn., and Tara Mayes, of Mechanicsburg; three step siblings; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and a step brother and brother-in-law.
A memorial service to honor the life of Michael will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at Sanders. Burial will be held privately in Trout Run Cemetery.
