Richard Glenn Summers, of Cogan Station, passed away at his home on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.

Born in Bellefonte on Feb. 13, 1933, he was the son of Harold Clair and Mary Helen (Myers) Summers.

Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of Susquehanna Drifters RV Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Leroy O. Buck Post No. 7863, Gesang Verein Harmonia Club, Williamsport 40/8, Highland Manor and a member and attendee of the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church.

Richard worked as a Pipe Fitter for LOCAL 520. In his free time, Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. His little dog “Buttons,” bluegrass music and camping. He was also an avid shuffle board and pool player.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Michael T. (Rhonda) Summers, of Cogan Station, and Richard C. (Michelle) Summers, of Montoursville; one brother, Robert (Linda) Summers, of Alphretta, Ga.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanna Mae Summers; and a sister, Sara “Sue” Jane Thomas.

Friends will be received 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the at the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, 656 W. Creek Road, Cogan Station.

Services will be held at Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church 11 a.m. Nov. 2, 2017 at with Pastor Jerry Foarroux officiating.

Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, PA 17752.

Contributions may be made to the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, 656 W. Creek Road, Cogan Station, PA 17728.
