Wilbert R. Swanson, 94, formerly of Williamsport and Camp Hill, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2017, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Born April 29, 1923, in Thief River Falls, Minn., the son of John O. and Dorothea (Schneider) Swanson.

Surviving are his daughters, Patricia Persun and Joanne Prokop, both of Williamsport, Kathleen Ranck and husband, Ronald Sr., of Montgomery and Judy Fite and husband, Daryl, of Plant City, Fla.; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, W. Raymond Swanson; and a daughter, Christine Swanson.

He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a self-employed insurance broker and agent in the Williamsport area for many years. He enjoyed bowling, singing and dancing. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

A private service with military honors will be held Wednesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
