Janice M. McFadden

Janice Mary (Berry) McFadden passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Nov. 11, 2017, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.

She was born in Williamsport on May 14, 1953, the youngest of three daughters to Vilma and Harry Berry.

She was a 1971 Graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Williamsport School of Commerce. Jan worked 27 years for the State of Pennsylvania at the Lycoming County Assistance Office, taking a 10-year break in her career to raise her family before returning to work.

Jan was a dedicated mother, Nana, wife, and homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. Jan was an avid reader, and especially liked horror books and movies. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with her family and friends.

Janice married Bernard Joseph McFadden on May 8, 1982, at Annunciation Church, now St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Erika Rose McFadden (Raheem Allen), of Philadelphia; son, Bernard Justin McFadden “BJ”, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Jason Allen, Ryan Allen, and Leila Allen, all of Philadelphia. She is also survived by a sister, Linda (Dave) Phillips, of Williamsport, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Ann Marie Felix preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. John Victoria officiating followed by burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Jan’s name may be made to the Lycoming County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
