Linda R. Snyder Hart

Linda Rae Snyder Hart, 63, of Jersey Shore, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at UPMC Susquehanna Hospital in Williamsport.

She was born April 6, 1954, in Williamsport, the daughter of George and Marvella Bartlett Snyder.

She attended Hepburn-Lycoming Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School and graduated from the Williamsport High School Class of 1972. She received her music degree from Mansfield State Teachers College. She was a very accomplished French Horn player and was a member of the prestigious Mansfield Wind Ensemble. She then received her degree from Mansfield University in Elementary Education. She graduated from Penn State with her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Linda retired in 2013 from Round Hills Elementary School in Williamsport where she taught first grade for over 27 years. She was a member of the Williamsport Civic Chorus and the Elks Repasz Band.

Linda and her husband John M. Hart actually met in fifth grade at Hepburn-Lycoming Elementary School and were married 13 years later in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Williamsport on Nov. 19, 1977. She and John renewed their wedding vows at the Church of God in Jersey Shore on their 25th anniversary.

She was a member of the Jersey Shore Church of God where she was active with Vacation Bible School and the W.C.G. She enjoyed crafting, travel, and dogs. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan even naming her dog “Chipper”. Her first love was her family and grandchildren.

Besides her husband John, she is survived by three sons, Benjamin M. Hart (Kristy M.), of Pittsburgh, Alexander J. Hart and his fiance Amber S. Bremigen, of Larryville, and Nicholas G. Hart (Katherine N.), of Williamsport; along with three grandchildren, Mitchell, Devin and Kamden Hart.

Linda’s Tribute of Life Service will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Pastor John Phillips of Crossroads Community Church officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to visit the funeral home Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
