Rodney G. Brooks

Rodney G. Brooks, 47, of Nippenose Valley, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born April 18, 1970, in Scranton, he is a son to Gale M. And Patricia (Fenstermaker) Brooks.

Rod was a member of the Elks Lodge 1057 and Loyal Order of Moose in Jersey Shore. He was also a member of Larry’s Creek Fish and Game Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Rod was an avid hunter, but also enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his loving wife, the former Nikki S. Flook, they were united in marriage Sept. 18, 1993; two brothers, Stan G. (Becky) Brooks, of Jersey Shore and Brad G. (Christie) Brooks, of Avis; his companions, Sam, Chunck and Chloe; many nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

A funeral service honoring the life of Rod will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at the Robert H. Wheeland Community Center, 1212 Locust St., Jersey Shore. Pastor Jeffrey Howell will officiate. Times of visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with a brief Elk’s service beginning at 6 p.m. at Welker Funeral Home.

In memory of Rod, the family suggests to wear your favorite camouflage.

Burial will be held at Oval Cemetery.
