William L. Haney Jr.
William L. “Bill” Haney Jr., 63, of Muncy Valley, died on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, in his Penn Township, Lycoming County home. He had been in ill health since 2003.
Bill was born on Friday, Nov. 27, 1953, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late William L. Haney Sr. and Carol C. (Levan) Dvorshock.
Throughout his younger years, Bill attended the Bloomsburg area schools and completed his formal education at the Bloomsburg High School.
For over 12 years, Bill was employed by Gander Mountain. He was a former member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Mainville. Bill enjoyed spending his time fly fishing, hunting and he loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded by half brother, Gordon T. Haney and step brother, Vincent Dvorshock.
Survivors include his life partner and caregiver, Christine (Hower) Haney, at home; stepdaughter, Leley Schmeltz and stepson, Matthew Schmeltz, both of Williamsport; 2 granddaughters; sister, Diane L. Minier and husband, Joseph, of Benton; brother, Scott W. Haney and wife, Carolyn, of Shickshinny; half sister, Jill Kemp, of Berwick; half brother, Henry Dvorshock and wife, Lelie, of Muncy Valley; two step brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Dvorshock II, of Hughesville and Kenneth Dvorshock, of Washington; two step sisters, Beth Thursby and Robin Dvorshock and husband, Frank Sidoriewcz, both of Scranton.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
