Helen Dunn Reaser
Helen Dunn Reaser passed away on Nov. 21, 2017, at Manor-by-the Sea in Ocean Grove, N.J. She was born at home in Montgomery, on Dec. 23, 1920, to Alma LeVan Dunn and Myron Ralph Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Reaser; sisters, Marie, Florence, and Carolyn; and grandson, Luke Mitchell.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Roberta Reaser Mitchell, of Ocean Grove, N.J.; grandsons, Matthew Mitchell (Rachel), of Drexel Hill, Pa. and Mark Mitchell (Alison), of Little Silver, N.J.; and five great-grandchildren: Meredith, Ethan, Elijah, Ella and Samuel.
A graduate of Montgomery High School, she was thrilled to be named Valedictorian of her class. As a secretary, she was proud of her typing, spelling and stenography skills. Helen worked at an ordnance facility in Williamsport, during World War II. Later she was a secretary for the Superintendent of Schools in Montgomery.
In 1985, Helen and Bob retired and moved to Bradley Beach, N.J., to help care for their newly born grandson, Luke Mitchell. Family was always important to her and she loved to can and cook for them, especially peanut butter fudge for Luke.
A private service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.
The Ocean Grove Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
