Gisela P. Winder

Gisela P. Winder, 78, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in the Watsontown Health and Rehab Center. Born Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1939, in Germany, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Emma (Ratz) Patz. She and her husband, James H. Winder, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on March 28, 2017.
Gisela was employed as a sewer by the Montgomery Sports Wear, retiring in 1997. She had previously been employed by Rheldas, Weldons and Bertha Boys.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church at Montgomery. Gisela was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Monika Powell, of Watsontown and Gail and husband Terry Warren, of Montgomery; two sisters, Agnes and husband Bruno Pansegrau, of Calgary, Canada and Erika and husband Richard Hort, of Northumberland; three brothers, Benno and wife Evelyn “June” Patz, of Montoursville, Oswald and wife Jean Patz, of Muncy, Egon Patz, of Florida; one grandson, Brett Powell, of Watsontown; and one brother-in-law, Floyd Hartman, of South Williamsport.
Gisela was preceded in death by one sister, Tusnelda “Nellie” Hartman; and one brother, Adelwin Patz.
Funeral services will be conducted from the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. with Reverend Theodore Cockley, interim pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the church.
