Idabelle E. Kirkwood
Idabelle E. Kirkwood, 82, of Jersey Shore died Friday Jan. 5, 2018, at the Manor Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born March 6, 1935 in Sanborn, she was the daughter of Ai W. Kline and the former Ruth Barnett.
Idabelle retired from the Northern Central Bank after many years as a teller and bookkeeper. For many years she was a member of the Fairplay Gospel Fellowship and the Red Hat Ladies. Earlier in her life she was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Citizens Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She was devoted to her loving family and was known for her cooking and baking.
She is survived by her loving husband, William L. Kirkwood, they were united in marriage Aug. 11, 1956 in Sanborn; 2 daughters, Barbara A. (Randy) VanEmon, of Jersey Shore and Pamela E. (Thomas) White, of Jersey Shore; 5 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Clifford Kline, of York, Emory Kline, of Dubois, and Ashley (Bonnie) Kline, of Philipsburg; and 1 sister Hilda Shively, of Dubois.
In addition to her parents, Idabelle was preceded in death by 4 brothers Thomas Kline, Ernest Kline, Norman Kline and Emerson Kline.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at noon at the Fairplay Gospel Fellowship corner of Oak and Walnut St. in Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Pastor Michael A. Guiswite will officiate.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to the church.
