Paul A. Franquet Jr.


Paul A. Franquet Jr., 80, of Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at AristaCare at Loyalsock.

Paul was born in Williamsport on Oct. 6, 1937, the son of Paul A. Sr. and Theone Bradley Franquet.

He was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School. Paul was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, spending the last ten as a supervisor, prior to his retirement. He had been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he was also Scout Master of Troop No. 90. He also enjoyed hunting, bowling and golf, but he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s functions.

Surviving are three sons and their families: Paul A. “Chip” (Kimberly) Franquet III, of South Williamsport, Jeffrey C. (Martina) Franquet, of Watsontown, William R. Franquet, of Williamsport; grandchildren, Christine, Bob (Kate), Charlie, Esther, Emily, Logan, and Tyler; and a brother, Julius C. (Marie) Franquet.

His parents, wife, the former Ruth Ann Haas, daughter Jacquelyn Franquet, and sisters, Winifred L. Franquet and Bertina “Tina” Whelshans, all preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Saturday Jan. 6, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. followed by burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.
